Pinterest AI Ads Push Brands Toward Omnichannel Control

Image
Pinterest Drops Two Features That Change Brand Discovery Pinterest has introduced visual search ads alongside an AI-powered restyle tool, shifting how brands surface products within its image-first environment. Visual search ads let users upload or select a photo and receive sponsored results that match the visual elements, turning everyday inspiration into direct purchase paths. The AI restyle feature generates multiple stylistic variations of a single image, allowing advertisers to test alternate aesthetics without new photoshoots. Together these capabilities tighten the loop between discovery and commerce by embedding paid placements inside the very moments users are already browsing for ideas, rather than interrupting them with traditional display units. For brands, the commerce upside lies in meeting consumers at the point of visual intent. A user photographing a living-room setup can now encounter sponsored furniture options that mirror the exact layout, colors, and textures in...

Cisco ISE Zero-Day Shows Why API Endpoints Need Stronger Front-Line Defenses

Image
Crafted Request, Instant Access: The ISE Disclosure Moment In September 2026 Cisco disclosed CVE-2026-76460, an authentication bypass affecting an API endpoint within Cisco Identity Services Engine. The flaw carried a CVSS score of 10.0, reflecting its critical severity and the absence of any required user interaction or privileges for exploitation. CISA added the vulnerability to its Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog within hours of the advisory, underscoring the immediate risk to enterprise environments that rely on ISE for network access control and identity management. The bypass allowed an unauthenticated attacker to submit a specially crafted request that granted direct access to the web management interface, effectively removing the primary barrier that normally protects administrative functions and policy configurations. The technical root of the issue lay in insufficient validation of incoming API calls at a specific endpoint responsible for handling session and policy...

Delivery Certainty Will Define the Next Phase of Data Center Growth

Image
Hook: The New Reality of Data Center Timelines Consider a mid-sized technology enterprise that has developed proprietary AI models for real-time fraud detection and needs to scale training clusters immediately to meet a new regulatory deadline. The company’s internal projections show that on-premises expansion would require at least 12 MW of new capacity, yet every qualified general contractor and hyperscale developer contacted returns a timeline of 24 to 36 months from contract signing to first rack power-on. The delays stem from interconnected constraints: regional utilities cannot guarantee new substation capacity without multi-year grid upgrades, skilled electricians and data-center commissioning engineers remain in short supply, and lead times for medium-voltage switchgear and liquid-cooling distribution units stretch beyond 18 months. Each of these bottlenecks compounds the others, turning what was once a 12-month build cycle into a multi-year exercise in project management. Po...

X’s Second Bill Shock: A “Billing Correction” Just Made Your Webhook Events Real Money

Image
In June, we covered X's April pricing shakeup — API posts with links jumping from $0.01 to $0.20, a disclosed 1,900% increase aimed at spam and affiliate flooding. That story is still true. But it's no longer the whole story. On September 16, X sent developers this notice: "We're correcting a billing issue that affected Pay-Per-Use charging for X Activity API (XAA) events delivered via webhooks... this change reflects corrected charging going forward — it is not a new product fee and does not require refunds." Translation: X had a billing bug that was under-charging webhook-delivered Activity API events, and just fixed it. If your bill moved this week, this is very likely why. Not the same story as April April was X deliberately raising prices. This is different — it's not a new rate at all, it's X finally billing rates that were already published. Per X's pricing docs, webhook events have been billed per-delivery all along: $0.010 ...

Wind Build-Out Exposes Casting Shortfalls for 2025

Image
36% More Turbines, Same Old Casting Queues The United States is on track to install 36 percent more wind turbines in 2025 than in the prior year, yet the surge is already colliding with chronic constraints in the casting supply chain. Large structural components such as nacelle bedplates, rotor hubs, and main frames—typically produced from ductile iron or cast steel in molds weighing tens of tons—face extended lead times that directly threaten the compressed delivery windows promised to project developers. While turbine original equipment manufacturers have publicly committed to first-half 2025 shipments for many new 3 MW to 6 MW machines destined for Texas, the Midwest, and the Northeast, foundries report order backlogs stretching six to twelve months, creating an immediate mismatch between contractual turbine delivery dates and the physical availability of castings. Casting capacity has not scaled in step with turbine demand because the process itself is capital-intensive and time-...
